Peach! clapclap Posts: 1,699 Group: Moderator Member #678 Joined: July 9, 2007	Weapons on Shinya Weapons on Shinya have ALWAYS been a tough thing to deal with. THe site has had it's fair share of lunatics with weapons who try to commit mass murder, and others who were growing so paranoid of such atacks that they too started carrying weapons. For a time, weapons were outright banned, because of this ludicrous behavior. However, now people can have weapons, although it is now MUCH more restricted than it ever was before -Weapons as Equipment Weapons as equipment are generally frowned upon. Why is this? Well, quite simply, they are LETHAL WEAPONS. Using them is a danger not only to the people around you, but to the user themself. If you STILL want to own such a weapon, please note that if you live on campus in a dorm, it WILL be kept at the dojo in town, as weapons on campus are NOT ALLOWED under any circumstances, aside from some sort of attack from evil forces, and you are trying to defend the school from said evil, and even THEN it's generally not a good idea. Keep in mind, getting swords is a LENGTHY process in Japan. It requires more time, energy, and money to even go through the liscence part, let alone GETTING the actual weapon. It is impossible to get ANY sort of gun, as the laws are just FAR too difficult for any student to get, and even adults can't really get them as it's just too difficult a process. As for swords, they too require a lengthy process, but are possible to receive. In general, it is HIGHLY unlikely you will be wielding a weapon here. If you want to, then prepare for a living hell of work for your character, and some SERIOUS retributions if you misuse them. Suspension from the site WILL be a punishment for a crime done with them, which could happen if you so much as HOLD one out in public, and your character will be noted as having been arrested In Character. You will also LOSE weapon privileges. Now, what can you do with these weapons? Not much, admittedly. With swords, if proper caution is used, you may spar with them and the like in the dojo, or someplace secluded with the woods, so long as the swords are transported PROPERLY. That means in boxes and the like, as to not cause citizens to freak out. As said above, real guns are forbidden. This is because they, quite simply are overpowered. Now, you may be thinking, this is an ANIME world, what harm could guns do? A lot. Not everyone here is from the matrix, skippy. Dodging bullets is, quite simply, a feat not possible for some of the fastest people alive. You may think your character is hot stuff and the like, and can dodge it, but there are also characters who can not do so. However, guns that act as focuses for powers, and have no ammunition chambers, and no way to propel anything, are acceptable, so long as the power being sent out through it is NOT at bullet speeds or forces. If you've seen Super Smash brothers Melee or brawl, think of Mewtwo and lucario's Shadow ball/Aura Sphere. That is about the speed and size that should be launched from it. Otherwise, it's too dangerous to be allowed. -Weapons as Powers Weapons as powers are somewhat less dangerous. For one, they are rarely life threatening. For example, an energy sword made from ectoplasm won't bisect you if you are slashed. It will leave a slash mark, yes, and it WILL hurt, but it'll be nothing compared to what real swords could have done. Ki blasts, or bursts of other such energy, likewise, are NOTHING compared to bullets. They may hurt, they may burn, but they are MUCH slower than bullets, much easier to see and dodge, and won't leave a person on the verge of death after one shot, or likely, 10 shots. However, there are similar responsibilities with them! Attacking people with your power outright are downright foolish, ESPECIALLY in public. It's a crime, of course, and can and WILL have the same results as if you had attacked someone with an equipment item. That means suspension from the site, IC arrest, and the like. While your powers, admitidly, can not be removed Logically IC, we CAN put you on probation for it. Note, however, if two parties in agreement, and in a secluded area so as to not cause widespread panic, the two CAN spar as a way to train. -Weapons and plots As we all know, people attack Shinya. It is an inevitable issue, as fighting, while not the focus of Shinya, is part of it. Attacks and weapons are generally allowed in plot topics while fighting against the various hordes of evil. This is almost always the ONLY time blatant use of such powers are allowed, and ONLY when fighting the enemy forces. After all, if some sort of super death robot is coming at you, it's smarter to fight back then run away only to be chased and killed. - Guns that shoot bullets, grenades, rockets, ect are not allowed. - No explosives - For students who own weapons, they must be kept at the dojo. If you chose to take your weapon out, that's fine but it has to stay off school campus. Also, if the staff gets complaints about mis use of your weapon from other members, we will investigate and you run the risk of having your weapon taken away for good. - You may only carry the weapon which you get approved for.
