Haine got out of the car and grabbed her things, setting them down beside her. "Gambattene, Haine." She grinned at her mother and put up a thumbs up. "Makasete!" Her mother turned the engine back on and smiled. "Have a good time." Haine watched as her mother's car drove off into the distance and sighed. To be honest, she was really nervous. What if no-one liked her? Even worse, what if everyone hated her? She dragged the luggage behind her and walked through the tall black metal gate. The gate itself made her feel inferior. She pressed her lips together and moved til she reached a grassy area, dotted with shade-providing trees. Was she lost? Her mother hadn't given her a map. She remembered the exact instruction her mother had given her. "When you get there, head to the office, okay? The receptionist will help you out." Too bad Haine had no idea where the Office was. "Mouu! Why didn't Okaa-san give me a map?!" she sighed, "Shoganai, I guess I'll have to find a way somehow. Oh wait, I'll ask someone nearby!" She looked around, searching for someone. There were some people around, but she couldn't find the courage to go up to someone, for a change. She felt lost and insecure. She took a deep breath and sat down, right in the middle of wherever she was. "Please find me!" she silently whispered to herself. |

Scott did not hate education. In fact, learning about magic was quite possibly his most favorite thing in the world. There was an issue with such though, as while Scott was insatiable for new knowledge, the subject of magic was the only thing that could truly keep his interest for any period of time. Math? Boring! Science? Who cares! Still, with the decisively lacking income of new knowledge pertaining to magic since coming to Japan, Scott couldn't help but feel a little excited at the prospect of school, especially one where everyone had unique powers. It is with that feeling of excitement that Scott, who against better judgment had decided to fly on his broom to school for his first day, touched down behind a tree in commons area. He had never attended a public school, and as far as he knew, there was no secret school for practitioners of magic, they were just too few and far between. So Shinya just seemed like the logical choice for education while he searched for his master's acquaintance. After applying, he had spent more time than he thought he would have scoping out the campus. It was during that time in the dead of winter, that he had decided upon the landing spot he was now using. Dismounting from his master's staff, which was poorly disguised as a broom, Scott rounded the winter-worn tree only to nearly run into another student who was sitting on the ground. He hastily made to back step, as he was getting tried of making up excuses as to why he carried around a broom, before hearing the person speak. "Please find me!" Her words were almost two quiet to hear, but they managed to be somehow. Ditching his broom behind the tree with a toss, Scott spoke to cover up the noise of the olive branch staff colliding with the tree's bark. "I have found you." He had made a minimal effort to improve his Japanese in the time since his arrival and now. "But uh...you were lost here of all places?" Smiling non-threateningly, Scott internally cursed himself for not paying more attention to where he was landing. Perhaps he should find a new spot to land in the future, but before that, he should probably work on his ability to hide his magic better, and not just fly to school on a whim because of excitement. He hadn't been very proficient at the whole "secret and safe" thing up until this point and this situation was no different. |

Her tightly shut eyes slowly opened, surprised that her wish was granted so quickly. The first thing that she noticed was his shabby Japanese. It was understandable, and that was all that mattered. She blushed at his question, embarrassed that she was lost. She scrambled to her feet, a red tint stuck on her cheeks. "Ah! I...um, I'm a new student. I was trying to find a way to the office..but my mother didn't give me a map! And then i stumbled over here. I was really confused! I still am. Oh yeah, my name is Haine. May I know yours?" The confidence in her started to rise and before she knew it she was rambling. "Oh...sorry for going on," she mumbled, looking down for a second before looking back up again, her eyes lit up with eagerness. "You dropped something." Haine walked over to the bush and picked up the broom and held it out for the boy with a smile. "Do you mind showing me to the office? I need to get my schedule and such..." She studied his appearance again, only just noticing his unruly dirty blonde hair and his gray-blue eyes. "You're not from here, are you?" What a stupid question to ask. I already know the answer so why did I ask? She ignored her thoughts and looked down to the brrom in her hand. "Are you a wizard?" She cocked her head to the side a little in curiousity. Hahaha, another stupid question. |

"It's Scott." He answered with a bow following her explanation. After Haine apologized unnecessarily, Scott continued. "I'm new as well and it's not a problem." And it wasn't, in fact, the more she rambled on the less likely she was to notice and ask about the broom he had poorly stashed away, but unfortunately she did just that. "Ah, um, well yeah. I can show you around." Scott failed to feint ignorance as the broom's owner. Putting in his best effort to keep a straight face as she studied him intently, Scott hoped her mind wasn't jumping to truthful conclusions... "I'm actually from Greece." Scott breathed a secret sigh of relief. Well, technically he was from America, but that was so long ago, he might as well answer as he had. The relief had been short lived however, as her questions continued. "Ahahahahahahahahaha....." Perhaps laughing longer than required to seem suspicious before trailing off, Scott took the broom back. "No ,I'm not a wizard." He answered after a second before continuing, "I'm just a..." His mind stalled, swimming in the excuses he had used in the past. "...part-time janitor." He finished in English, not knowing the word for janitor. "Well, shall we go?" Giving her no time to question his statement, Scott placed the broom diagonally across his back, where it inexplicably stuck, and began walking toward the largest group of buildings in the area. "Over there are the dorms." He started, pointing to the three strangely different buildings huddled in a group. "And we're heading to the main area, where all the class related buildings are, as well as the library and office." Looking over at Haine, Scott prodded fun at her, remembering the vastness that the city beyond offered. "I don't know how long you've been in town, but if you get lost easily, I suggest taking it slow exploring the rest of the city." "Oh and stay away from the shady area of town, especially the old warehouses. Not a pretty place." Scott figured he might as well keep as many people away from that part of town as possible, wouldn't want anyone seeing what he was up to... "And down that way is the lakeside park, the wind coming off the water is pretty chilly, but I'm sure it's better in the warmer seasons." Doing his best to pick things out and explain them, Scott took a second to make sure Haine was keeping up. "You remembering any of this?" |

"Scott," she repeated after him, thinking of how unfamiliar his name sounded to her. Haine watched carefully as he talked, so she could remember anything important."Hontou? You'll show me around? Ah, Arigatou! ...You're not a wizard?" She pouted a frustrated look on her face. "Boo. That's boring." Janitor? But before Haine could voice out her thoughts, Scott was already showing her around the school. She looked in the direction that he pointed and listened intently to his explanations. She nodded as he gave out advice. "Old warehouses?" Curiousity glinted in her eyes and she made a mental note of it. "Hmm. Dorms over there, Going to Main Area with Library and Office, Big city, slow exploration, stay away from shady area, and lakeside park. I've got the gist of it ... I'm sure it'll all work out," she grinned enthusiastically and put up a thumbs up. "Is this the end of the tour or is there more?" She sighed. It would take awhile before she was familiar with this place, she was sure. It was a huge place, and like Scott has said, it would be quite easy for Haine to get lost. She smiled at Scott, thankful that he had rescued her from her confusion and that he was kind enough to show her around. |

"I did say there was a lot to see, didn't I?" Stopping short of the front doors as they arrived at the main building, Scott answered her question. "But you should probably grab your schedule first." Opening the door, Scott waited for Haine to enter before following, where he changed shoes and led her a brief ways down to the main office. Remembering the somewhat tense application process, he opted to avoid the room, standing outside it's door instead. "Go ahead, I'll wait here, and after, I guess I could continue the tour." Scott waved Haine through the door and, when he was certain she was gone, raced out the front door and back onto the commons. When he got the feeling no one would notice, he took his broom off his back and mounted it, racing toward the dorms. Counting the windows till he found his own room at the Kanizaki house, Scott ditched the broom through his still open window, falling the ten feet to the ground. Turning and sprinting back to the main building, Scott was pleased with the time he was making, and vowed to never bring out his broom again for something as simpe as heading from the dorms to school. Arriving back at the main building, Scott stopped running and walked inside, trying to get his breathes under control. Seeing Haine had already gotten her schedule and was waiting in the hall, Scott thought of yet another excuse. "Sorry, I had to go to the bathroom. Did you wait long?" Mentioning nothing of his broom, Scott did not even wait for an answer, wiping the sweat from his brow. "Good." Smiling inadvertantly in a somewhat suspicious manner, Scott started conversation as he walked towards the stairwell, which would lead up to the classrooms. "So what brought you to Shinya?" His inside shoes squeeking from the wetness of spring's mud, Scott acended up the stairs to the second floor. |

OOC:Mind if I join? Hitomi was walking the school corridors on the second floor making sure everyone was doing the right thing. "You there! No running." She told a first year who was chasing after a friend of his. "Im sorry Sasaki senpai!" He told her then walked, his friend laughing at him. Hitomi was part of the student council and vice-president. She is a descendant of a warrior and she carried around a samurai sword. She has permission from the principal to do so. Three years at this school and everyone listened to her. Her name was famous throughout the school and everyone (Maybe not some people) were scared of her. Just as she was about to go up the next flight of stairs to the third corridor, a boy who did not look Japanese came up from the first floor, mud on his shoes. The speaking noise was annoying her. She approached the boy and saw that he was with a girl. The girl looked scared as if it was her first day here. Hitomi was probably right. She stopped the boy by standing right in front of him, leaning on her sword. "Did you wipe your shoes on the mat before coming in?" Hitomi saw that a piece of hair was sticking up on his hair. "And comb your hair will you?" |
| Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you' re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU... The one who turns to his friends and says, thats her... | |
